Words of Encouragement

Dear Dydine Umunyana,

Thank you so much for taking your time to come and Talk to us about your amazing story! I have never been so amazed and happy  yet sad at the same time. your story was so eye opening and it made me think about some of the issues of our times right now. not just world issues but also personal issues. I was especially touched by your story regarding your neighbor who helped you survive. it showed me that even in the darkest times , there is still hope and love present. you are such a strong person, dedicated, beautiful woman who has inspired me to make it my mission to make an impact on the world.

Thank you once again,

love , Kimia

" Dear Dydine ,

Your way with words and passion for what you do is extremely inspiring and makes me extremely empowered! though our stories are very different, the themes and big ideas you talked about really resonates with me, especially when you explained that though your journey was traumatic and violent, that doesn't mean our problems should be invalidated. growing up, we are told to appreciate what we have and not to be sad/ angry about the things because other people have worse than us, i truly appreciate how you are able  to directly tell us that our problems will and can be as big as they are in our own lives, because they are our own problems and no one else's.

Thank you and again  for continuing your amazing work!

"Dear Dydine,

I would like to thank you for empowering us with your massages. I felt incredibly moved and thought the whole talk, I aspired to grow up to be some one like you. although it has a long time ago, your incredible journey still resonates with me . before you came to our school, I was thinking about moving to my local public school because I felt overwhelmed by the future.  And settled on a thought I would live an average life and grow old. However your words empowered me , and for the first time in my life, I was able to see my self in a brighter future.  Thank you so much for opening my eyes to the opportunities I could overcome.

Mental Health awareness

"Dear Dydine

That you so much for your talk at Notre Dame! you were so inspirational and helped me realize my calling . your massage about "love out loud" still resonates with me today. I realize now that I want to spread love as well and I am in the process of creating a website for mental health support. your stories about forgiving your enemies was really touching.

With much love,
